The Royal Government is providing training to young people to become valuable human capital for the country’s future. This was emphasized by His Excellency Pen Bona, Minister attached to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, during his keynote speech on “Youth Participation Towards Realizing the Vision of Cambodia 2050” at the National University of Management (NUM) on the morning of September 4, 2024.
H.E. Pen Bona highlighted that the term “Human Capital” carries profound significance: young people should possess not only specific skills and good morals but also a deep sense of national pride. This vision aligns with the goals of the Royal Government under the 7th legislature of the National Assembly, led by Samdech Mohaborvor Thipadei Hun Manet, as reflected in the launch of the Pentagon Strategy, which prioritizes human capital development.
H.E. Pen Bona encouraged young people to strive to acquire at least one specific skill and to embody morality, dignity, and national pride, always carrying the nation’s flag high. He explained that national pride must be promoted everywhere, spreading a good and positive image of the country to enhance national values and attract tourists and foreign investors. He stressed that no matter where you are, you must not dishonor their nation, unlike a few extremists who have done so.
It is worth noting that the lecture also featured H.E. Tan Jean-Francois, Minister attached to the Prime Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and was chaired by H.E. Prof. Dr. Hor Peng, Rector of NUM. The event was attended by approximately 250 participants, including professors, monk students, and undergraduate and graduate students.
