The situation in some front lines is calm, while in other areas, the Thai military continues to carry out its attack on Cambodian sovereign territory. However, our forces continue to fight the aggressor fiercely and monitor the situation closely and remain highly vigilant.
The Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia wishes to reiterate that Cambodia’s rise to self-defense is solely targeted at the Thai military targets and has never targeted at the civilian area. Conversely, the Thai side has deliberately attacked locations where Cambodian civilians reside, resulting in 30 deaths, including 1 infant, and injuries to 87 innocent Cambodian civilians as of 6pm December 24.
Time and time again, the Thai military has utilized deceptive tactics to mask its violation of Cambodian sovereignty and territorial integrity in blatant defiance of established international legal frameworks. The Thai military’s systemic aggression against Cambodia, characterized by the deployment of heavy and destructive weapons and equipment, including F-16, T-50TH fighter jets, naval warships, various types of heavy artillery, cluster bombs, toxic gas, all types of advanced drones, DTI-2, DTI-1G, multiple rocket launchers, as well as other types of heavy weaponry to attack Cambodia, particularly on both innocent civilians and sites of the world’s cultural heritage. Such conduct identifies Thailand as a state that destroys peace and security not only between Cambodia and the entire region, but also to serve its expansion, ambition, and aggression against smaller and weaker countries.
We demand that the Thai military immediately cease its campaign of systemic misinformation and distortion. The path toward peace requires an immediate cessation of hostility, strict adherence to the ceasefire, and the full re-implementation of the joint declaration on the peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand. The Thai leadership must now demonstrate its sincerity, transparency, and commitment to international law through responsible action rather than hollow rhetoric and deception.
In this end, Cambodia calls on the international community to strongly condemn Thailand’s violation of the joint declaration and its repeated war crimes and unlawful activities, as well as demand that Thailand must take full responsibility for such abrasion violations. Cambodia urges Thailand to immediately stop all hostile activities and withdraw its forces from Cambodian territorial integrity and avoid acts of incursion and aggression that threaten peace and stability in the region as a whole.
