Update on the situation of the Thai invasion and armed attacks launched on Cambodian territory in the 4th and 5th military regions on December 25, 2025, which entered 19 days. The Thai side has continuously violated the ceasefire and the joint declaration signed by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Kingdom of Thailand on October 26, 2025.
To be informed that the GBC Secretariat began its meeting on the second day this morning, on December 25, 2025, at Prom Permanent Border Checkpoint, Thailand province, Cambodia, opposite of Pakkad Permanent Border Checkpoint, Chanthaburi province, Thailand.
On the second day of the meeting, the secretariat teams continue further discussion to ensure the cessation of hostility and find solutions to restore stability between the two countries, as well as to facilitate a swift return to normalcy. It should be noted that this GBC Secretariat meeting was convened in preparation for the upcoming third special Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee GBC meeting scheduled for December 27, 2025.
Even though the GBC Secretariat meeting has been convened since yesterday, the threat and hostility of the Thai invading military against Cambodian sovereign territory still continue in calm areas right at this moment.
1. The frontline situation at the four military regions in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces. The Thai military continued its attack on Cambodian sovereign territory from 12pm to 4pm on December 25, 2025.
- At 1:20pm, the Thai military deployed fighter jets to bombard and continue to shell with heavy artillery and DTI-2 multiple rocket launchers into the areas of Preah Vihear temple and the area of O Smach, Oddar Meanchey province.
- At 3pm, the Thai military fired DTI-2 and SO-4 multiple rocket launchers into the area of Preah Vihear temple, Phnom Kmoch, Choam Te, Koul 8 and also carried out an attack densely targeting the populated area of Sro Em district, Pheak Sbek, into the area of Preah Vihear temple and fired shells into the area of O Smach district, Oddar Meanchey province.
- At 4pm, the Thai military continued to fire artillery shells and DTI-2 multiple rocket launchers into the area of Preah Vihear temple, Phnom Kmoch, Choam Te, Koul 8 and also fired shells into the area of Tamoun temple and Damnak Sdach.
The situation on some frontlines is calm, while in other areas, the Thai military continues to carry out its attacks on Cambodian sovereign territory.
2. The frontline situation at the 5th military region in Banteay Meanchey and Battambang provinces. The Thai military continues its attacks to invade Cambodian sovereign territory from 10am to 4pm.
- From 10:50am to 2:35pm, the Thai military continued to fire 9 shells into the area of Kouk Romiet and Kumru communes, Thma Puok district, Banteay Meanchey province.
- From 2:43pm to 3:10pm, the Thai military fired 11 shells into the area of Serei Mean Chey commune, Sampov Lun district, Battambang province.
- From 2:50pm to 4pm, the Thai military continued to fire six shells into the area of Kouk Romiet and Kumru communes, Thma Puok district, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 3:35pm, the Thai military continued to fire shells into the area of Prey Chan village.
