The Ministry of National Defense reported calm and stable conditions along the front lines in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces since midnight on August 12, 2025. Cambodia reiterates its call for Thailand to release the 18 detained soldiers following the 14-day ceasefire, enabling them to reunite with their families. Meanwhile, the Regional Border Committee (RBC) is preparing to meet with Thai authorities in two weeks, in line with the General Border Committee (GBC) agreement of August 7, 2025. Cambodia hopes this meeting will advance the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and foster the restoration of peace, security, stability, and normalcy between the two nations.
