Update on the situation of the Thai invasion and armed attacks launched on Cambodian territory in the 4th and 5th military regions on December 24, 2025, which entered 18 days.
The Thai side has continuously violated the ceasefire and the joint declaration signed by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Kingdom of Thailand on October 26, 2025.
1. The frontline situation at the 4th military region in the provinces of Oddar Meanchey, Siem Reap, and Preah Vihear provinces. The Thai military continues its attack to invade Cambodian sovereign territory from 8am to 3:02pm on December 24.
- From 9am to 10am, the Thai military continues to fire artillery and mortar and deploy toxic gas along with kamikaze drones into the area of Preah Vihear Temple, Ta Thav, Phnom Kmoch, Koul 8, and Phnom Trangol. They also continue firing artillery and mortar into the area of Tamone Temple.
- At 11 am, the Thai military deploy fighter jets to drop 4 bombs into the area of Srei Snam district, Siem Reap province, and fire 155-millimeter artillery as well as DTI-1G rockets into the area of Preah Vihear Temple, Ta Thav, Phnom Kmoch, Koul 8, and Phnom Trangol. They also fire mortars into the area of Tamon Temple.
- At 12 pm, the Thai military began deploying tanks and infantry forces into the area of Veal Antri and Preah Vihear Temple. The forces were supported by artillery fire from multiple directions.
- At 1:43 pm, the Thai military use bomb-dropping drones, fire artillery shells from a distance, and deploy mobile vehicle-mounted guns to attack the area of Preah Vihear Temple.
- At 2 pm, the Thai military continue shelling with 155-millimeter artillery and DK vehicle-mounted guns and also use DTI-1G rockets to conduct intensive fire into the area of Preah Vihear Temple.
- At 3 pm, the Thai military continue to attack by using artillery and mobile vehicles to fire into the area of Preah Vihear Temple while continuing to fire artillery shells into the area of Tamon Temple.
- At 3:02 pm, the Thai military started to deploy drones to spray toxic gas into the area of Preah Vihear Temple.
The situation in some front lines is calm while in other areas, the Thai military continue to carry out its attacks on Cambodian sovereign territory. However, our forces continue to fight the aggressor fiercely and monitor the situation closely and remain highly vigilant.
2. The frontline situation at the 5th military region in Banteay Meanchey, and Battambang provinces, the Thai military continue its attacks to invade Cambodian sovereign territory from 8 am to 3:07pm on December 24.
- At 9:12am, the Thai military fired 2 artillery shells into the civilian residential area in Poipet- municipality with one shell landed near roundabout 58 and another one shell landed in Nimit district, Poipet municipality.
- At 9:40am, the Thai military fired 1 artillery shell, causing 2 civilians to be injured in the civilian residential area in Koun Trei, Ou Chrov district, close to National Road No. 5, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 9:45am, the Thai military deployed reconnaissance drones and violated Cambodian sovereign territory in the area of Chok Chey village.
- At 10am, the Thai military deployed T-50TH fighter jets to drop four bombs into a civilian residential area and hit further deep into Cambodian sovereign territory in the area of Banan district, Battambang province.
- At 10:28am, the Thai military fired 26 artillery shells into the area of Sampov Lun commune, Sampov Lun district, Battambang province, with some shells hitting Chan Deang pagoda.
- At 11:10am, the Thai military continued firing artillery shells into the area of Chok chay villages.
- From 12:15pm to 12:26pm, the Thai military deployed T-50TH fighter jets to drop cluster bombs into the area of Sla Kram commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province.
- At 2:02pm, the Thai military deployed T-50TH fighter jets to drop one more bomb into the area of Banan district, Battambang province.
- From 2:20pm to 3:07pm, the Thai military fired 8 artillery shells into the area of Ta Sda commune, Sampov Lun district, Battambang province.
The situation in some front lines is calm while in the other areas, the Thai military continues to carry out its attacks on Cambodian sovereign territory. However, our forces continue to fight the aggressor fiercely and monitor the situation closely and remain highly vigilant.
