Samdech, Excellency, ladies and Gentlemen!
Up to now, 30 Cambodian civilians (including 1 infant) have been killed, and 88 have been injured, including women, children, and elders. The number of displaced civilians has increased to over 630,000. Many civilian infrastructures, such as houses, roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, markets, private business buildings, pagodas, Hindu statues and even ancient temples, which are invaluable cultural heritage of humanity, have been continuously damaged.
All the above-mentioned damages inflicted by the Thai military aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Cambodia since December 7, 2025, up to now. The invading Thai military has indiscriminately bombarded civilian areas and infrastructures, causing numerous Cambodian civilians to suffer, and the number keeps rising, while civilian infrastructures are being destroyed every day.
Alongside the brutal aggression against Cambodia and our innocent citizens, the Thai leadership has also employed psychological warfare through official and unofficial media outlets to spread false information, aiming at deceiving its own citizens for political popularity purposes. They also intend to demoralize the Khmer people and break the unity and solidarity between the Khmer people and our leadership. However, the Cambodian people have not fallen into the trap of such psychological warfare. On the contrary, the Cambodian citizens, the Royal Government and all armed forces have come together, shoulder-to-shoulder, to defend the territorial integrity, the honor and dignity of the Khmer Nation, thus forming a strong Foundation of People’s Defence Policy against the invading enemies.
The spokesperson for the Royal Government of Cambodia proudly praises the great unity of the Khmer people and expresses profound appreciation for the heroic courage of the Cambodian Armed Forces, who have been fighting fiercely and persistently against the invading enemies, with full confidence in the Royal Government led by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet. This is the core force of the Khmer nation to protect the territorial integrity against the invading troops.
In this regard, the Spokesperson for the Royal Government of Cambodia condemns in the strongest possible terms the barbaric, ruthless, and inhumane attacks launched by the invading Thai military on the innocent Cambodian civilians and civilian infrastructures. We also appeal to the international community to put pressure on Thailand to immediately stop violating the international laws and crimes against innocent Cambodian civilians as well as to compel this country to resolve this border issue through peaceful means.
The Spokesperson for the Royal Government of Cambodia would like to reiterate that “Peace” is the number one priority above everything else that the Royal Government of Cambodia, our leadership, and all Cambodian citizens aspire to. Under whatever circumstances, the Royal Government of Cambodia is absolutely determined to maintain a firm and unwavering stance in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing its inherent right to self-defence in compliance with international law against the invading enemy.
