Keynote Address by H.E. Pen Bona, Royal Government Spokesperson:
1. As of 2 August 2025, the ceasefire agreement—reached on 28 July 2025 during a special meeting in Kuala Lumpur hosted by Malaysia, co-organized by the United States, and with the active participation of the People’s Republic of China—has entered its fifth day.
2. The Royal Government of Cambodia reaffirms its unwavering commitment to fully respecting and implementing the immediate and unconditional ceasefire, with the utmost restraint and a deep sense of peace. This commitment is firmly rooted in adherence to international law. The implementation of the ceasefire is currently being carried out under close and continued observation by the international community.
3. Regarding the spread of fake news, I would like to inform our fellow Cambodian citizens that numerous fake Facebook accounts have recently emerged, using Khmer names and writing in Khmer script. However, these users are not Cambodian nationals. This is a deceptive tactic designed to impersonate Cambodians and sow division among our people.
4. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and not fall victim to these malicious schemes intended to undermine our national unity. In these challenging times, all Cambodians—both at home and abroad—must stand together in solidarity to safeguard our sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity. Let us preserve and strengthen our great national unity—now and always.
